Our Story

Dinner in Paradise

        Mauricio Reyes left his native Gautemala to escape the civil unrest and to provide to his wife and three children with a better life. He worked hard as a chef at Paganini in Doylestown, De Nicola in Richboro, La Strada in Huntington Valley and Luigi's in Jamison, which at the time was one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. It was there, where he met Mario.

        Mario is a graduate from the culinary institute of Perugia in Italy. He worked in restaurants in several countries around the world. He came to Doylestown in October 1990 during what was called, "Indian Summer". He fell in love with Bucks County where he worked as a waiter at De Nicola, Il Melograno and La Veranda.

        Mario later went to open three restaurants: Bocelli in Gwynedd Valley, Tutto Mario in Chalfont and Pasta Fazool in Hatboro. When Mauricio and Mario heard that former Luigi's was available for purchase, They didnt hesitate to begin a new adventure. They named it PARADISO, the Italian for Heaven. They wanted to restore its splendor and prestige. They also shared the same passion for food and pleasurable dining. Why Paradiso you may ask? Known to be a fine gourmet, King Henry lV of France once said, "Good Food and Good Wine; This is Heaven on Earth"

        So my friends bring the good wine, and we will provide the good food. There will be smiles all around and all who come will be closer to Heaven on Earth.
